Premium refunds

Please be aware that claims for premium refund in accordance with the Danish statute of limitations are statute-barred 3 years from the 11th August 2018, where all insurances became void. I.e. the deadline for lodging a claim for a premium refund to the bankruptcy estate is 11th August 2021.

If you still want to lodge a claim for a premium refund to the bankruptcy estate. You must send an e-mail to debts@poulschmith.dk with proper documentation attached in form of a copy of your policy and proof of payment of the premium.

After you have lodged a claim for a premium refund using the e-mail address, you will receive a confirmation e-mail to the e-mail address you have stated in the e-mail.

When the bankruptcy estate have handled the claim for a premium refund, you will receive a confirmation that the claim has been handled/registered in the register of debts in the bankruptcy estate.

Please be aware that receipt of compensation from the bankruptcy estate is subject to considerable uncertainty, given that the overview of the expected dividend still needs to be established. Dividend meaning the proportionate share to be received by a creditor when all claims cannot be fully satisfied. Full compensation from the bankruptcy estate cannot be expected.


Claims of damage

If the claims handler has rejected your claim for damage and you do not agree on with the claims handlers decision, you may file a claim at a web formula for rejected claims.

If you want to notify a new claim, you must notify the claim in accordance with the procedure described in your insurance policy and not directly to the Danish Guarantee Fund or the bankruptcy estate. Please contact your claims handler as stated in you policy. We also refer to the site ”policyholders/claimants”  where the contact information on the claims handlers are listed.

You might be aware of that all insurances ended the 11th August 2018. Therefore all claims occurred after the expiry of the 11th of August will be rejected by the claims handler.

Furthermore you may contact the claims handler, if you have questions about an already reported claim.

The claims handlers will report all approved claims directly to the Danish Guarantee Fund and the bankruptcy estate. Therefore, you should not notify your claim again either to the Danish Guarantee Fund or the bankruptcy estate. You might be aware of that the Danish Guarantee Fund only provide coverage for claims reported before the expiry of the 8th November 2018. Claims reported after this date will be against the bankruptcy estate.

The Danish Guarantee Fund does not accept any claims of damage. Therefore, please contact your claims handler regarding your claim of damage and the claims handler will report your claim to the Danish Guarantee Fund.
